SERVPRO Strives to Stand for More Than Just Remediations
Many people look at a company, like SERVPRO, and think that they merely handle damage-based remediations and that is the extent of their services. However, Mark Zegarelli, explains differently. While the primary purpose of SERVPRO, as a company, is to handle remediation-based jobs, he explains that SERVPRO also does "residential and commercial carpet cleaning. We do move out cleans for most of the apartment complexes here, in and around, Fort Drum."
When asked what he attributes to the success of his franchise, Zegarelli, an Owner of SERVPRO of Jefferson County, said that he felt "most of it is our employees, the training they go through, and the dedication to helping people and getting the job done right." SERVPRO ensures that many technicians go through IICRC-certification and are put continuously through routine training scenarios, to make sure that they can handle whatever damage is thrown at them on the job.
SERVPRO "can draw resources from all over the country if needed," he commented when asked what separated his franchise from the other competition. Zegarelli further explains that SERVPRO has a "nationwide network of over 1700 franchises." Having such large numbers at their disposal, SERVPRO can handle larger jobs, such as "the four stories of the HSBC building that flooded back in 2011."
"What does living local mean for you and for SERVPRO?" Zegarelli replies that beyond "allowing us to help our neighbors, and people in the county, to recover from disasters...I was mayor of the village I lived in for 11 years [and] I was also a member of the fire department for 25." SERVPRO aims to have experienced people at the head of our teams, who can bring even more knowledge and expertise into our ranks.
Lastly, SERVPRO always strives to be apart of a community. Our goal is to leave our customer more than just satisfied after the damage inside of their home is remediated. We want to leave them happy. Zegarelli pushes this idea further when he explains that SERVPRO does volunteer work. "We also partner with the Red Cross, here in Jefferson County, to install free smoke alarms for people in the county."
